The Results Are In

The Sixth Annual Windy City Cup is over, and the results are in.  Click on the Photos page to see what you missed.  Before I give you the results, I'd like to take a moment to offer my sincerest gratitude to our sponsors.

The Footbag Museum, WorldFootbag.com, Momentum WorldWide Marketing, and Palmetto Pewter came through in a big way to make this a successful event once again.

And last but certainly not least, I'd like to thank Yves Archambault and Pro Kicker Footbags, the official footbag of the Windy City Cup every year we've run the event.  The support of these great organizations is second to none, and the fact that each of these relationships are stronger through friendship than business makes it all that much sweeter.  Thank you for your continued support.

Our players battled through some extremely humid weather and enjoyed everything that Chicago has to offer.  We had a great time hanging out and playing together.  I look forward to doing it all again next year.  Here's the results...

Congratulations to Patti Schrickel and Jack Harris, the 2013 Windy City Cup Champions!!

Folks started gathering on Friday at Union Park.  Rain spattered the Chicago area most of the day, but it started to clear towards the end of the afternoon.  As we got ready to paint our lines, our Park District contact showed up to let us know that the park had been over-booked.  We reluctantly agreed to find another location for our Prelims, which ended up being Humboldt Park on Chicago's near West Side.

Saturday's action at Humboldt Park was epic, and it led to match-ups between Chris Siebert and Tuan Vu against 2012 WCC Champs Dan Greer and Dominic O'Brien in one semi-final and eventual Champs Patti Schrickel and Jack Harris taking on Scot Hansen and Cory Current in the other semi-final.  It was hot and humid, but the park was inviting and lively.

We set up the bleachers and the most professional-looking Finals Site in the sport for Sunday's festivities at Navy Pier.  Not only did we keep the net action as hot as the temperature outside, but Scott Davidson was doing freestyle demonstrations all day inside the Pier on their Main Stage.  Footbag took over the Pier for the day, and tourists and locals were blown away by the show.

We can't wait to do it all over again next year.  Don't miss it!
